ABOUT
Amelia Howard is currently a Doctoral Intern in clinical psychology with an emphasis in family psychology at Azusa Pacific University. She currently holds a M.S. in counseling and an M.A., and PsyD in clinical psychology. Amelia has advanced training in trauma-informed care using brief interventions as well as specialty training in neuropsychological and neurodevelopmental assessments through the lifespan (i.e., children, adults, and older adults). Amelia has been honored and invited to the graduate honor societies, Alpha Chi and Psi Chi as well as she has been recognized for her efforts in serving minority populations. Her scientist-practitioner background allows her to combine research and clinical knowledge to advance the field of psychology seen in the completion of her dissertation, participation in cognitive and neuropsychological labs, poster presentations, and manuscripts. Amelia is also an adjunct professor for brain and behavior and multicultural psychology undergraduate courses as well as she actively mentors current graduate students. She is currently a member of the American Psychological Association (Neuropsychology, Trauma, and Pediatric) divisions, National Association of Neuropsychology, American Academy of Neuropsychology, and the American Academy of Pediatric Psychology. Amelia plans on becoming a pediatric neuropsychologist, with the hopes to intervene early on and create a positive shift in the lives of children and adolescents.
